The Bright Ideas education grant program, sponsored by North Carolina's electric cooperatives, strives to improve education in North Carolina classrooms by awarding grants to Tar Heel teachers in grades K-12 for innovative, classroom-based projects that fall outside of normal funding parameters. Since the program began in 1994, more than $8.5 million has been given to educators across NC for more than 8,300 projects benefitting well over 1.5 million students.
Certified North Carolina teachers from participating schools are eligible to apply for grants of up to $2,000. Grant applications are accepted from April 1st until September 15th. Early bird incentive: Applications received before August 15th will be entered into a drawing for a Visa gift card!
